Giza Cotton Fibers are exceptionally good at retaining deep dyes. This special quality allows the manufacturers to bring out a wide variety of Colors. Even after continuous washing they do not lose their Vibrancy.
Types of Giza Cotton
Depending on variations in the length , strength and diameter there are 6 different grades of cotton namely : Giza 45, Giza 86, Giza 87, Giza 88 ,Giza 89, Giza 90.
The numbers which we are seeing defines the year in which they were first hybridised. Using this as their names for classification we have got these 6 grades of cotton.
Moreover, these six grades of Cotton are broadly divided into two Categories :
Long Staple Fibres
This group of Fibre has the specifications of having Length greater than 33 mm and the diameter range from 4.3 to 4.9 micronaire. This includes Giza 86, Giza 89 and Giza 90. They are very high quality cotton, even better than the very well known Cotton of American brand known as “Supima” Cotton.
Micronaire is defined as the measure of the air permeability of the compressed Fiber which is generally used for defining the fine quality and maturity of the Fiber.
Extra Long Staple Fibres
This includes the remaining three i.e Giza 87, Giza 45, and Giza Giza 88. To be considered very high quality grade of cotton it must have very high Uniformity Index and very less diameter. From this group Giza 45 is the best of them with very high Uniformity Index of 88.5.
